Erämessut 2010

It has been a while since the last post - I will try to make it up with a lots of video material. We participated in the hunting fair in Finland and watched also some gun-dog shows.

First, I want to complain because it came as a big surprise to me that it was not allowed to walk around with a dog in the fair - it was summer and open air fair in the country with one of the lowest population density in Europe!!!?? For example there is a fair in Germany in the middle of February, in-room fair and loads of people walk there with a dog! I really, really do not understand it. So we had to put Ruudi in our car after being informed about that by a security guy.

OK, what did we see. First a classical fox hole test set-up. Have to say that this artificial fox hole was very fancy - having indicators showing where the dog is.

Secondly, a gun-dog show.

Konekarhu is a funny invention to train dogs with bears.

Finally we met Ruudi's family and since the meeting place was in a training hall, we tried agility with Ruudi the first time (we haven't been able to try in on a track before) - to see what he thinks about that. The result is quite promising, I have to say.
